Defrim classical and rhythmical( jazz-balkan) Clarinet -and saxophone player.

Born on 4th of August 1994, in Rajce, Librazhd ( Albania). Since primary school he has participated on many cultural activities and has been member of primary school music bands and “Rrajca dancing assembly ”- where his uncle was a clarinet player. From him he got the inspiration to play clarinet in Balkan jazz style, and competed at School of Music “Onufri” Elbasan (Albania) to start studies to be an professional clarinet player on 2008. There he took his “first steps” as a clarinet player with the professor Roland Berbiu, until 2014 when he finished his highschool, the school of music “Onufri”. During this period he won two first prizes on the competitions “Albanian Young Clarinetists” 2013 and “clarinmpro” 2014 in Tirana (Albania).

In 2014 he started studying at the University of Arts in Tirana (Albania), class of prof. Fatos Qerimaj, as a professional classical clarinet player. He has been part of University of Arts Symphony Orchestra for 2 years.

In 2016-2017 he became part of erazmus + and he also got the right to study for 6 months in Conservatorio di Musica “Giuseppe Tartini” – Trieste Italy in the class of prof. Elena Ferrofino, and there he took lessons in jazz And contemporary , and also was part of Giusepe Tartini Student Symphony orchestra , as soloist as well .

When he came back, he finished his bachelor program at the University of Arts Tirana under the guidance of prof. Fatos Qerimaj. In those 3 years Bachelor he has been playing in many concerts in different genres ( classical, Balkan jazz and folk music )

In 2017 he came to Norway and he started Master degree at University of Agder in the class of prof. Stig Nordhagen and Ingrid Wangdvik, Kristiansand.

For two years he has been participating in many concerts ( soloist , chamber music and also with Kristiansand Symphony orchestra.

In love with balkan gypsy jazz music on January he formed a music band “The_Balgyp_Band” (balkan gupsy jazz) with Johanna Tiedje singer and Adrian Mcalister guitar,mandolin and he’s playing Clarinet, Saxophone and Armanin Duduk (a double reed instrument witch is 3000years old ).

The Balgyp has 5 members . They are playing in many concerts and in the “Den internasjonale Kulturfestivalen” Kristiansand 2019 The Balgyp was the best group performer !

In May he finished his master degree and he got the opportunity to start a second master in Rhythmical Music – specialization World Music at University of Agder with Prof. Bjørn Ole Rasch.
