Flora
Flora (b.1993) is a Greek conductor, pianist, and musicologist (MA).
In May 2023, she completed her orchestral conducting studies at the Norwegian Academy of Music, and from August 2024, she continues her orchestral conducting studies at the University of Stavanger.
She has received the National Diploma in Piano Performance from the Greek Ministry of Culture with the grade excellent and first prize (the highest award). She has performed in Greece and abroad, as a soloist and with her chamber music trio (piano, viola, clarinet). For over ten years, she has worked as a piano educator in her hometown Athens, and Oslo.
As a conductor she has conducted the orchestras: Orchestra da camera del Maggio Fiorentino, Norwegian Radio Orchestra (KORK), Greek Radio Symphony Orchestra, Lithuanian State Orchestra, PKF-Prague Philharmonia, Stavanger Brass Band, NDR big band, Pitesti Philarmonic, City of Athens Symphony Orchestra and many others.
In 2018, she graduated from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens where she studied Historical and Systematic Musicology (master’s degree). Her thesis topic was: “Analytical and Historical Approach to Claude Debussy’s Trois nocturnes for Orchestra (1899)”.
She speaks Greek, English, Norwegian, and Italian.
