Iana

Iana  started playing the piano at the tender age of 5. She won her first prize at “The Young Pianist” competition (Tiraspol, Moldova) by the age of 8. A soloist by the age of 12 Iana played with Symphonic Orchestra performing as piece by Johann Bach.

By the age of 16 years she became a regular participant and winner of International and National competitions such as ”White Liliac” and “ The Young Pianist”.

Her career as a soloist continued as she performed in the Youth Symphonic Orchestra where she performed “Six concertos for the harpsichord” by George Handel.

At age 17 Iana Ghilea was a soloist with “ Fantasia on Ryabinin’s theme” for piano and orchestra by Antron Arensky.
In 2004 she won a second prize in Romania (Targu Jiu) piano competition.

From 2004-2006 Iana attended master classes in Conservatory in Odessa, Ukraine.

From 2008-2011 Iana Ghilea participated in student exchange program and in 2011 won a Grant for talented musicians in Conservatory of Music in Laramie, WY, USA.

In 2012 Iana graduated with a Master degree in instrumental performance at the Academy of Music, Theater and Fine Arts in Kishinev, Moldova. Lately, she has continued her education at University of Stavanger, Norway in the Performance Department where she was awarded a highest honors for her project on S.Rachmaninoff.

At present, Iana performs as a soloist in chamber concerts in Norway. In September 2015 and teaching at the “International Music School of Stavanger”  children and adults where she shares her love of music, teaching, performing and inspiring all would be musicians.
