Emils Klauzs studied piano at a music school and sang in different chamber ensembles during childhood. In middle school he took pop singing lessons and sung in a local rock band.
In 2013 he started Bachelors studies in classical singing, in Latvian Academy of Music, where he studied with soprano Zigrīda Krīgere and baritone Jānis Apeinis. He also participated in masterclasses with Joy Mannen (UK), Snezana Nena Brakovic (Germany), Algirdas Janutas (Lithuania), Margreet Honig (Netherlands)
During his studies he sung as a practicant at Latvian National Opera small solo roles and worked in the opera choir. He also participated in Operetta theater in Franz Lehar’s “Die Lustige Witwe”, Niko Dostaal’s “Klivia”.He also participated as a soloist with “Orchestra Riga” and several chamber music projects.
In 2018 he graduated from academy with Lensky role in full production of Eugene Onegin by P.I.Tchaikovsky and in next year debuted as Turridu from Cavaleria Rusticana by P.Mascagni in Nebrodi Opera Festival in Sicily.
In 2017 he started working as a choirmaster and vocal coach in Mixed choir “Ikskile”, in summer of 2019 the choir got Silver diplomas in both competition categories in festival “Per musicam AD Astra” in Torun, Poland.
In 2018. He started working as a voice teacher in Music school of Lielvarde where he taugh children and also private students both in classical and popular music singing styles. One male and two of his female students got first class diplomas XIII International Sacred Music Festival – Silver Bells in Daugavpils, Latvia.
In 2019 he started his Master degree studies in Stavanger, Norway. Now he is studying with famous Norwegian soprano Prof. Elisabeth Norberg-Schultz. He is also taking lessons with Matthew Marriott (UK).
In 2020 he participated as “Don Curzio” in the full production of “Le nozze di Figaro” with the University of Stavanger.
